LOOSE AND JUICY STROKES, RICH IMPASTO, AND DELICATE GLAZES characterize Maren Phillips' oil
paintings.  Your dog may be posed in a formal setting, frolicking with "friends" or adorning a chair, or a
piece of clothing but a portrait in the medium of oil will set them off from the ordinary.  Maren can work
from your photographs of  your dog and place them in an environment of  your choosing, or set them in a
soft vignette to emphasize their coloring.

Many clients prefer oil paintings and Maren loves to work with oil.  She "grew up with oil", coming to
watercolor later in her career.  Oil allows the painter to work in a slower fashion, giving more texture
to the surface of the painting, and rich glowing color.  Many art collectors feel that oil paintings are
the epitome of portrait painting, and indeed, the intrinsic beauty of the oil medium gives a certain
timeless quality to the work.
